Clayton Shenk has worked in the Shenandoah Valley in a variety of professional, entrepreneurial, educational, and Christian service positions, including: Program Direction, and wholesale billing with Wetsel Seed Company from 1965-70; Director of Financial Aid at Eastern Mennonite College (University) from 1970-77; developed and operated a freezer beef operation for 9 years; founded and developed with his wife, Dorothy, a gift and decorative accessory store, Confectionately Yours, from 1981-1990; Business Analyst, and Business Counselor at the JMU Small Business Development Center from 1992-99; founded a custom cabinet business called The Master’s Hand with son Randy in 1999. He currently manages this business.
He helped to develop Blue Ridge Ministries, Inc., and served on the board for two years. He also has served on the board of directors for the Family Life Resource Center in Harrisonburg.
Clayton has a B.S. in Business Management from Eastern Mennonite College, with a minor in Finance. He has done Financial Counseling graduate work with the American College, and has a certificate, “International Trade Specialist” from Thunderbird Training Center.
Clayton married his high school sweetheart, Dorothy Wenger in 1959. They have two married children, and two wonderful grandsons. Both Dorothy and Clayton are active in Weavers Mennonite Church, in Harrisonburg. He is excited to be a founding member of Isaiah 61 Ministries!
